Renewables
campaign
Greenpeace's
renewable energy campaign is at the forefront of promoting the UK's clean
energy future. Greenpeace Active Supporters are working with local people
across the UK to promote and develop renewable energy solutions.
Working as part of our 'Yes2Wind in Swansea Bay' campaign,
Greenpeace Active Supporters have been instrumental in gathering local
public support for the Scarweather
Sands offshore wind farm, which was successfully given the go-ahead
in October 2004.

GM campaign
Greenpeace
opposes the release of GM into the environment because they pose unpredictable
and irreversible long-term risks to environmental and human health.
Greenpeace Active Supporter networks have played a vital
role in removing GM from the food chain and campaigning against the commercial
growing of GM crops.
Greenpeace Active Supporters are currently working on our
'Scary
in the Dairy' campaign focusing on the removal of GM from dairy products.

Ancient Forests campaign
Greenpeace
is working to end illegal and destructive logging in the world's remaining
ancient forests and is promoting alternatives such as recycled products
and/or those certified by the forest stewardship council (FSC). Greenpeace
Active Supporters have been involved in uncovering illegally logged Indonesian
timber being sold around the UK.
Now Active Supporters are involved in lobbying the UK Government
to ban the import of all illegally logged timber into Europe, and direct
communications against major retailers who've been selling garden furniture
made from rainforest timber.
